KNIFE CRIME
IS NOT A TALKING POINT
Knife Crime is an issue which negatively impacts the lives of young people, families and communities around the UK.
Junior Filmmakers decided to take action to help those who have been impacted by this issue in Milton Keynes.
With funding from partners, Junior Filmmakers created a project to educate young people about the negative impact of knife crime and ultimately prevent them from getting involved or being impacted by its subsequent consequences.
Superintendent Marc Tarbit, Police Commander for Milton Keynes was supportive of the project, and in collaboration, with Milton Keynes Council provided funding for the creation of this digital educational pack for schools.
This video is the statement on why he decided to back the project.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE AND REDUCE KNIFE CRIME
Councillor Lauren Townsend was supportive of the knife crime initiative created by Junior Filmmakers and together with Thames Valley Police has supported the creation of this digital education pack.
This is Cllr Townsend statement about knife crime and why she funded this project.
KNIFE CRIME FILM INITIATIVE
As a community-based organisation, Junior Filmmakers noticed the growing impact that knife crime has on our local community. Our knife crime film initiative was created to educate young people on the dangers of KNIFE crime so that we can all have an open discussion about its dangers with a view to reducing its presence and use among our young people in Milton Keynes.
